Iranian Elections
A million people?
How many people took part in today's protests? Hard to find an exact figure, but the Los Angeles Times reports on a stunning estimate:
Reformist websites estimated that more than 1 million people participated, and even indignant supporters of the hard-line camp at the prayer session to show support for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei acknowledged the crowds were unprecedented.
If that number is accurate, it would make today's protest maybe the second-largest since the election. And even if it's overstated -- even if "only" 500,000 people showed up -- that would still be orders of magnitude larger than anything we've seen in the last three weeks.
